When researching how farmers might adapt to climate change, I came across the following pair of photos:
On the left we have intensive farming, clearly not the way to go. On the right, “agroecological agriculture”, clearly on the side of virtue and biodiversity. Now here’s another picture of intensive agriculture:
Mmm. Doesn’t look so evil. Nor does this:
Intensive agriculture is basically “high-yield” farming, which means more food grown on less land. That’s a good thing, because it lowers food costs and frees up land for nature. Intensive farming is even better when done sustainably. In fact, that’s a growing trend.
